The glo story
Early in winter of 2018, a diverse group of people were meeting in Melbourne.
This formal meeting was interrupted by a fire alarm that resulted in a few groups huddled out of the rain in a damp stairwell.
In this uncomfortable and chilly situation, Tim Carroll and a small group were pondering how international students must feel when moving to a new country to study. What could we do to improve the social and cultural experience of our international students studying in Victoria? How can we utilise their global citizenship experience for their benefit and the benefit of the amazing Victorian Startup ecosystem?
Tim proposed that in his experience, international students all want to experience being an entrepreneur.
He also knew that Victorian Startup businesses are far more successful and scale more rapidly if they start thinking globally.
What if these 2 needs could be combined?
The benefits of giving students access to real entrepreneurial experiences while giving startups access to global citizens became clear.

The glo project is an entrepreneurial learning program to create global connectedness between local Startups and International Students in the areas of product design, branding and cultural fit. It includes an academic component blended with extensive experiential learning.
